2026 Queensland Schools Constitutional Convention

Submission Portal

Welcome! You are now accessing the submission portal for the 2026 Queensland Schools Constitutional Convention (QSCC).

The QSCC is an annual, statewide initiative designed to inspire students to explore, analyse, and discuss important constitutional issues shaping Australia’s future.

Nomination Overview

Schools are invited to nominate one student from Year 10 or Year 11 to represent their school.

Each nominee will present a multimodal presentation addressing the selected constitutional topic and question for 2026.

Topic: Balanced Federalism: High Court use of implied constitutional limitations to invalidate State laws.
Question: Should the High Court apply their constitutional powers to strike down State laws?

All submissions will be carefully reviewed by a panel of judges, who will select delegates to represent Queensland at the National Schools Constitutional Convention in 2027.

Important: Students selected as national delegates must be in Year 11 or Year 12 in 2027.
