Workshop: Spotlight on QLearn

Kimberly Whitehouse is an award-winning STEM educator and QLearn Coach, completing a Masters in Educational Leadership at UQ. Kim leads the implementation and change management processes for QLearn at Indooroopilly State High School, in the Metro North region.

With almost 3000 students and 250 teachers, Indro is also known for its inclusive programs, hosting a large cohort of additional needs and Deaf/ Hard of Hearing students. Kim has previously worked on major projects such as the implementation of the iSTEM curriculum in regional and remote NSW, and has held Head of Department roles in Business, Industry and Innovation, and Head of Year. She is committed to improving outcomes through educational equity and access for students using QLearn, while building staff capacity through coaching and professional development. 



Matt Reid

Workshop: Spotlight on QLearn

With a history for leveraging technology to enhance educational outcomes, Matt has built a distinguished career that bridges the gap between digital innovation and teaching. Graduating from QUT in 2005, he embarked on a journey that quickly evolved from high school science and biology teaching to pioneering roles in educational technology and change management. Matt’s tenure as an Education Officer with OneSchool in Central Queensland was a turning point, allowing him to collaborate with over 60 schools on integrating transformative educational platforms.

Since 2014, Matt has assumed leadership roles at Indooroopilly SHS that capitalized on his expertise in digital learning. As Head of Department - Digital Systems, Matt’s approach is characterized by strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and a pursuit of excellence in digital education solutions. His current efforts focus on enhancing digital infrastructure, streamlining platform usage for improved learning outcomes, and pioneering the adoption of emerging technologies in the curriculum, underscoring his commitment to preparing students for a digital future.
