MJ Raatz is a pioneering educator in the field of scholastic esports. With a passion for integrating technology into education, MJ has successfully harnessed the power of esports to enhance student wellbeing, engagement and learning outcomes. He is very proud of his esports team; together they focus on promoting teamwork, strategic thinking, and communication skills through their Esports Program of Excellence. MJ Lead the team that wrote Australia’s first Diploma of Esports for QUT College, which builds a seamless way to move from school to a university pathway. The Diploma takes a whole year off the Bachelor Degrees it is mapped to. MJ's efforts have not only increased student involvement and a sense of belonging but also opened doors for scholarships and career opportunities in the growing esports industry. Committed to digital literacy, MJ bridges social gaps and prepares students for future success in technology, media, and business. Look out for his latest work with the “GG Engage” project!

Matt Scholz is a dedicated and innovative educator at the Department of Education, having served since January 2018. With a robust background in inclusion, Matt specialises in differentiating content for learners with additional needs, ensuring every student has access to quality education. His expertise spans across all Key Learning Areas (KLAs), where he has significantly contributed to curriculum implementation and student engagement. A mentor to both pre-service and active teachers, Matt excels in coaching staff on the integration of digital technologies in the classroom. 

His presentations at various conferences have spotlighted the transformative role of digital tools in extending student learning and catering to diverse learner abilities. Matt is at the forefront of educational innovation, employing coding, design, robotics, and Esports to enhance educational outcomes and student wellbeing. His pioneering efforts in digital learning practices reflect his commitment to using technology as a lever to improve children's lives. Matt's dynamic approach and passion for teaching continue to influence and inspire educators and students alike, shaping a future where technology and education converge to create unprecedented opportunities for growth and development.
